Posted on Thu, 1 Oct 2015
Question: Ok I'm 57 years old in great shape. About 5 days ago I started feeling some pressure or water clogged feeling in my head. No headache. Just a feeling almost of dizziness and pressure. My physician basically dismissed it and said it was most likely a neck strain or injury. Don't remember hurting myself. I have no blood in urine, no nausea, no loss of appetite or lack of sleep. The other day I was on a highway and almost pulled over cause I felt strange. Should I see neurologist or someone? Call me crazy. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Low blood sugar, high or low BP, and labyrinthitis should be excluded

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM

Commonest causes of dizziness include
Low blood sugar-- I would have advised you to check random blood sugar to rule out this, are you diabetic.
Blood pressure both low as well as high can present with same -- checking your blood pressure to know whether it is in normal range.
Labyrinthitis -- is a disorder of the inner ear in which a nerve that detects head movement becomes inflamed. It causes dizziness, nausea, vertigo. It can be diagnosed by physical examination, do to exclude this I would recommend you to see ENT specialist.

I have not mentioned about three treatment option here as it depends on cause.

If these investigation and condition are ruled out and if diagnosed and if still symptom persists, you can see neurologist.

Take care

I have also had slight discomfort in my right leg to the right of the shin bone and just above the calf muscle. Felt like a deep bruise if I'm making sense. Does something like that travel through veins to the head. Like clots or something. I know I must sound crazy but this is no common thing for me. I am pretty much a tough dude. But I'm nervous to a degree. I don't want to be a person that ignore something that eventually kills me. Why would all of a sudden my head feels water logged and pressured for five straight days. Sorry. I can't explain better. Maybe like pressure when flying a high altitude. But I can hear fine. Weird. Thanks for you thoughts. You know all I'm thinking about is the "C" word. In the brain. My wife thinks I'm panicking. She is smart and beautiful. Regards. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Relax and not to panic, appears nothing serious, examination to clear doubt

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I would suggest you to relax and calm down, are you feeling pain in leg, is there history of injury to leg, is there a visible bruiser or so on leg.
First of all i will ask you to rule out the cause as mentioned in first post.
I would suggest you not to panic relax, it is good to be curious but I am not finding anything serious from the information provided by you. To clear your doubt, it is better to see a doctor for examination and if required they will suggest you investigation.

Take care
