What Causes Pin Prick Red Rashes On The Back Of Hand?

default
Posted on Sat, 25 Oct 2014
Question: Can someone help me with a small pin prick red dot flat rash on the back of my hand/wrist

It's not a large section but it isn't vanishing under a glass tumbler and I had a blood test on Wednesday revealing my ESR level was slightly elevated
Now this rash has appeared I'm scared it's endocartitis or meningitis because my ESR could be even higher now and accompanied with my other symptoms, severe fatigue, pain in neck and arms and back of ribs when breathing, dizziness and nausea I think I've got endocartitis can anyone help by giving me advice?

Brief Answer:
get echocardiograph done

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Rash is a marker of endococarditis but usually it is associated with hemorrhage of finger nails and painful lesions on palms. It's best to get a 2 D echocardiography done. Also get a blood culture done to rule out any infective endococarditis. Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
you are safe

Detailed Answer:
Please don't get scared.
You can't get frightened with innocent rashes.
Every rash is not endocarditis. Just relax. You are safe. If you don't take proper rest that might lead to a disease instead. Get yourself examined when you get time , just to give peace to your mind.
There is no emergency as per now. Just keep your mind calm. Feel free to ask any doubt. Wishing you good health.
Thank youq

I had an echocardiogram done in April and if was clear and normal I also had a ct angiogram scan done in XXXXXXX and that was normal and clear I have sent my results to you

However I didn't have a rash then. My rash that was on my hand has completely gone then darker red lines of the same rash (4 different lines) appeared at the top of my arm and they have now faded and almost cleared aswell
What can this mean?

Brief Answer:
non specific allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
I checked your reports. It's completely normal.
Don't worry about the rash. Sometimes a mild non specific allergy can also cause rash.
Just relax you are totally fine.
Keep getting your regular check up done.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
esr is not specific

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Esr can be raised even in mild anaemia and various other conditions. It has nothing specific to do with endocarditis. Please don't get scared. Just relax. Getting scared will put you in unnecessary stress.
Thank you
