What Causes Persistent Rectal Pressure, Bleeding And Pain After Bowel Movement?

To recapitulate: Female/31 - persistent rectal pressure and pain after bowel movement - some bleeding at times.

- Is the feeling of rectal pressure for all the times or sometimes you are symptoms-free?
- BM: frequency, consistency, smell, mucus, feeling of incomplete evacuation?
- Can you feel small wound or burning at the front or back portion of anus?

With a very short history you have provided, this looks to be fissure-in-ano problem, wherein one gets pain on BM and the pain may persist for longer duration of time.

This has lasted for over a year. Pressure is usually only after bowel movement, but lasts several hours and is extremely uncomfortable. Stool is usually soft, but gritty though i do eat alot of nuts, etc. i rarely feel like i have emptied my bowl after movements. I also was diagnosed with a small rectocele by my primary md, but another docoer said they cousbot appreciated that with rectal exam. I find this entire experience embarrasing and to the point where it is affecting my quality of life. That is why i rarelt seek medical attention unless discomfort is intolerable.

- Can be a form of proctitis or a part of colitis. in this there is inflammation of the colon. Rectum being part of the intestinal tract also gets inflamed. And can give symptoms as you have.
- IBS - irritable bowel syndrome can present like this. In this condition all the investigations will be necessarily normal to name the condition as IBS.
- Rectocele even though present can not cause these symptoms.

Since this is now affecting the your quality of life, you need to undergo the following:
Consultation of a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation.
Tests of blood, urine, stool.
Colonoscopy (includes ano-proctoscopy).
Further investigations as may be needed.
These will help to get a proper diagnosis, which in turn help to get a proper plan for treatment and possible cure and the best of life one can have.
