Brief Answer:
Post nasal drip , allergy , gastric acid reflux can be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Post nasal drip , allergy and gastric acid reflux can be the reason for this.
Do you have nasal block every time?
Do you feel any gastric acid reflux?

I would suggest Proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole , combination of antihistmine like Levocetirizine and mast cell stabilizers like monteleukast for long term in such case. Avoid dust exposure , cold foods and drinks. Taking chewable vitamin C is good also.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

all you have suggested have side affects which are worse than my present condition. I will continue with vitamins such as ginger root, cinnamon etc and phlegm reducing foods such as vegetables and certain fruits. Sincerely Yvonne Robertson

Brief Answer:
If it is getting controlled with such measures then its good.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

If it is getting controlled with natural remedies like you mentioned then it is good. You can take tea with lemon and honey , ginger , cinnamon, vitamin C , antioxidants like grape seed extract etc which are good natural remedies.
But if it is no getting controlled by above measures and making your quality of life difficult then you can opt for the medications I mentioned. All modern medications have side effects. But when used judiciously there won't be any problems. It is true that better to avoid them if possible.

Wishing you good health.
