What Causes Persistent Pain, stiffness And Soreness In Left Arm?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 May 2014
Question: I have persistent pain, stiffness and soreness in my left arm, right shoulder and buttocks. My VA doctor ordered x rays but that didn't show anything. He says I probably have arthritis and has ordered physical therapy for my arm, ibuprofin for the pain, and application of cold compress. I am 70 years old, not overweight and otherwise in pretty good health. The soreness in my buttocks has come about over a period of several years. However, the soreness in my arm and shoulder seems to have developed due to injury. The arm soreness came about after I was doing exercise with streatch bands, and the soreness in my neck and shoulder I think came from sleep injury. The thing is, none of this is getting any better. I'm not sure what the PT will do but anyway it is just on my arm. I would like to know what is wrong, why I am not improving, and what kind of treatment I should seek.

Avoid squatting and upstairs as much as you can. Avoid weight lifting till three weeks.
