Question: Hi Doctor,
My father-in-law is having numbness below his left shoulder since few days. If that part is left without shaking for sometime he cannot sense his hand. This is happening for every 3 to 4 days. Once numbness is felt and he shakes his hand he feels fine then.

What is the reason for this?

Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Numbness in hands may be due to cervical radiculopathy at this age.

Any weakness, urinary complains?
Any headache, vomiting, fever, loss of consciousness, gait abnormalities?
He may require imaging of cervical region if clinical examination is abnormal.
