What Causes Persistent Lesions On Calf Muscle?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Feb 2016
Question: Hi. Out in Vegas for a conference last week. Woke up having scratched at a painful pruritic lesion on my calf. Within 2 days, it is a 1.5 cm x 5mm full thickness draining lesion. Have started topicals with Bactroban. Suspect brown recluse with superinfection. Starting Bactrim assuming MRSA. Drainage stopped. Induration and erythema persist. I have outlined erythema. Anything else to do?

Brief Answer:
Can you upload an image for review?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this lesion you have reported. To be of most help, I will suggest that you upload an image for review. This way, I will provide a personalized and helpful response. With antibiotics on board and good wound cleansing, we are already on the right path. To make sure there is nothing we are missing out on, please provide an image for review.

To upload an image, click on the upload icon to the right of your dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. You may also send it directly to customer service at YYYY@YYYY and request that it should be uploaded to your query.

I hope to hear from you and promise to respond promptly. Until next, I wish you well.
