What Causes Penis Pain During Intercourse?
Question: Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
I hope you're doing good.
Recently during intercourse I felt pain on my penis then I realized that there is small cut at the skin which joins foreskin and Penis. I think that part is called as Frenulum. The cut is in middle of the frenulum, it did not bleed though. Now my penis when enlarges it pains a bit at the cut
Please advice how can I heal it. I consulted a doc today and he advised me to have Circumcision or can remove the Frenulum or the Band :(.
Please advice any other alternative.

Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can assure you, the cut is very superficial.
If the frenulum had a deep cut, it'll bleed profusely, as it has a rich blood supply.
You may be able to avoid a circumcision or a frenular surgery, if you apply Neosporin ointment over the area of the cut, for a few days.
Avoid intercourse, till the area of the cut has healed fully.
You don't have to get worried about this.
Maintain good penile hygiene and avoid moisture there.
Get well soon.

I am happy to hear that it wouldn't need a surgery. As you said to apply Neosporin Ointment and maintain moisture, I have following concerns. Could please advice on the below.
1. Do I have to bandage the injured area with the cotton or just apply the ointment?
2. How can I maintain moisture there, when I pee there's some drops are left out then how it can be kept dry and during taking bath it get wet completely, any suggestions?
