Brief Answer:
Greenish stools are normal. Pus cell count slightly raised. ORS essential

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the mentioned details. The first thing that I would like to ask about is the diet of the baby. Weaning should have already been done with semi solids, from 6 months of age.

Greenish stools are normal in children of this age. It occurs due to rapid transit of stool through the large intestine as a result of which the bile pigments do not get time to get converted to the yellow pigment that otherwise colours our stool. Passing stool a number of times a day is equally normal as passing stool once in a few days. Unless it is associated with hard stools, there is no need to worry. I would not get bothered about loose consistency either. But adequate replenishment of the lost salts and water would be essential. You need to give Pedialyte or some other ORS (oral rehydration solution) formulation prepared by mixing a full XXXXXXX in 200 ml of water and giving the solution sip by sip.

The pus cell count is slightly increased and could indicate a bacterial gastrointestinal infection but most of these are self limiting. You need not worry unless it is associated with other symptoms like lethargy and not feeding well. I would just insist on continuing breast feeding and ORS along with the semi solids if the child is otherwise active.

Hope that helps.
