What Causes Palpitations, Tightness In Chest And Nausea?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Aug 2014
Question: I don't know if I have heart problems. Occasionally as in a few minutes ago, I have palpitations, tightness in the chest and a bile feeling of nausea. I took Advil and laid on the couch and symptoms have passed but I get these fairly often.

Brief Answer:
Need investigations to exclude cardiac issues .

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.

In women symptoms and signs of heart disease are not as classical as they are in men so your symptoms might be due to heart disease.
It might be a rhythm disorder like Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation or Coronary artery disease.
Another possible cause for these symptoms is Acid reflux.

If I were your treating doctor I would first try to ruled out serious and life-threatening conditions like heart disease.

You need a complete cardiac work-up including:Physical examination, ECG,Stress test , Holter , Heart ultrasound.

Once excluded heart conditions your doctor may think other possibilities.

I recommend to consult a cardiologist and get examined.

Hope my answer has helped.
If you have any additional question or doubt to clarify please feel free to ask,I will be happy to help.

Regards!
