Brief Answer: can be cancer, but nothing to worry much Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. It can be due to cancer as the lump is painless. Lump following infection are usually painful. You need to get a needle biopsy of that to come to a diagnosis. But even if it comes out to be a cancer, there is no need to worry, as then its in early stage, as no lump was detected in your breast, so its in curable stage with minimal morbidity. Hope i have been helpful. Regards Dr. Ashish Verma

Brief Answer: many Detailed Answer: Hi, In terms of benign diseases, it can be either a lipoma, a sebaceous cyst, or a neuroma or a benign lymph node. But all these diagnosis can be confirmed on needle biopsy only. So the sooner you get that done, the better, for your peace of mind. Regards Dr. Ashish Verma
