What Causes Painful Ejaculation?

default
Posted on Thu, 5 Jun 2014
Question: Hi. 49 year old male. Fairly good health. Recently noticed that my ejaculation hurts somewhat (not in testicles) and that my semen is clear, runny with some of the 'normal' cloudy color in it but not much. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Could be infection of Prostate or Seminal Vesicle

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have
painful ejaculation.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any urinary symptoms associated with painful ejaculation.?
2) Do you have pain in perineal region?

This could be mostly due to Infection of Prostate (Prostatitis) or seminal Vesicle
(Seminal Vesiculitis) .

Opinion of a qualified Urologist would be of much help Get following tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Semen examination and Semen culture to find out organisms causing infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to so that it can controlled with appropriate antibiotics.
2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and trans Rectal Ultrasound Scanning (TRUS).

In the mean while start taking antibiotics like Doxycycline twice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Hi. thanks for answering....yes, I think only when I ejaculate there is slight pain in the perineal region but not the testicles. I do urinate a lot, but been that way for some time. I'll follow up with my own specialist. I just hope it's not serious or prostate cancer. thank you
