Brief Answer:
Try home remedies for a day or two. Otherwise get examined.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Pain on the external side of the throat without any fever or infection is seen in cases of muscle spasm, acid reflux, mild viral infections, allergy, dental issues and so on.

2. If the pain is bearable, observe for a day or two. House hold remedies like local heat fomentation, turmeric in warm milk, warm fluids, tulsi and honey with tea and a bland diet should be tried.

3. If this does not settle down in a couple of days, or worsens, get an ENT examination done. Is the pain on one side or both sides? How did it start? What is your age?

If you have any more questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
