Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

The abdominal pain that you describe, especially the right upper quadrant location and associated heartburn may indicate issues with your gallbladder. Sometimes gallstones or inflammation of the gallbladder can cause these type of symptoms to develop.

Since your symptoms have been persistent I would recommend that you consider contacting your primary care physician for a focused consultation, physical examination and consideration of possible Laboratory studies or imaging to further evaluate your symptoms.

And ultrasound of the abdomen including the focus of the right upper quadrant could help to provide adequate information and a diagnosis in your case. if there is in fact information of your gallbladder or gallstones you may be a candidate for gallbladder removal.

If the laboratory studies and imaging or otherwise unremarkable than your doctor might consider referring you to a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga

Detailed Answer:
You are very welcome.

Since the pain is persistent then a referral to a gastroenterologist may be the next reasonable step also to discuss managing the GERD symptoms.
