What Causes Pain In Upper Back And Around Ribs?
Question: I have pain in my upper back, around my ribs, radiating around my torso

After going through your suffering, the pain could be of costochondritis (painful when ribs are pressed), may be relieved by following measure along with the drugs like ibuprofen-
1. Avoiding unnecessary exercise or activities that make the symptoms worse until there is improvement in symptoms, and then return to normal activities only as tolerated.
2. Rib belt along with hot water fomentation helps.
3. You may be given a local anaesthetic and steroid injection in the area that is tender if normal activities become very painful and the pain does not respond to drugs.
As far as outlook of costochondritis is concerned it is usually self limiting and may go away of its own most people will recover fully.

This isn't centralized in the ribs. There is no pressing on the ribs when the pain is most felt.
Could it be a kidney infection ? Or a Urinary Tract Infection ?

2.Pain radiating from back to groin?
If answer is 'yes' you may need test like urine test and ultrasound abdomen.
Meanwhile you may have muscle relaxant drugs like thiocolchicoside(prescription only) along with Ibuprofen and hot water fomentation,if you have difficulty in bending forward and looking backwards.
