What Causes Pain In The Left Leg?
Question: I have a pain in my left leg in the calf. It feels like it is deep in the muscle of the calf. It feels like painful pressure and lasts for about 30 seconds and then goes away. Then it comes back after about five minutes. It has been doing this continually for about an hour, and now seems to have eased up and has nearly stopped with wider intervals between the pains. The pain has now stopped with no recurrence for the past 15 or 20 minutes.
Brief Answer:
Muscle cramps could occur due to low potassium levels
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that somehow you have developed an electrolyte imbalance. I would insist you to take juicy fruits like citrus fruits. They contain plenty of potassium which should help in proper functioning of the muscles and in reduction of the cramps. You also need to increase total fluid (water) intake and to take plenty of ORS (oral rehydration solution) to replenish the lost fluids and salts.
Let me know if I could help further.
