Question: Hi, for sometime now I have been having pains in the bottom of my right buttock. It feels like I am setting an a large rock. If I sit too long it gets very painful causing pain to travel down my leg and up my back. I can not drive very far at all it gets so bad. I Don't know if it could be connected to my back fusions some 10 year's ago. I am now 63. Thank You..

Brief Answer:
X-ray/MRI of spine is needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have gone through your medical history carefully and feel sorry for the situation you are in.

Having pain in the bottom of your right buttock with pain traveling down your leg and up your back is a sign of nerve root compression.

I suggest to get an X-ray of lumbar region of your spine and/or MRI of spine to evaluate it further and to consult with an orthopedist. It is important to evaluate the state of your back fusions.

Until then, I also advise to:
- avoid sitting for too long
- keep your spine and lower limbs in continuous movement
- apply warm clothing to the pain area

Hope it was of help! Let me know if you have further queries!
