What Causes Pain In Left Side Of Back Above Waist?
Question: last nite I was sitting at the pc and my left side of back just above the waste startted hurting. It seemed like I needed to urinate but not much happened. this went on for several hrs and my bps. was dropping and I got very cold. I was also feeling some preasure on my left testy. Finally the pain got severe enough that I THRU UP.I felt better but this am. upon awaking I got very bad pain on left back again. I TOOK MY MEDS and had brft.but the pain didnt subside.I TOOK A vicodin and put a heat pad and I feel better. I am wondering if I need to see a Dr. or will this go away. I also am on meds for prostrate

In my opinion, although you have mentioned a back injury, your presentation does not seem to be triggered by that. It resembles that of a possible stone in the renal system. For the same, I would recommend you to visit a doctor and request for an ultrasound of the renal system and a urine analysis. This should help rule out/confirm the suspected cause sir.
In the meantime, please consume plenty of water as this will keep the pain at bay and also help in expulsion of any small stones lodged in the renal tract.
