What Causes Pain In Foot And Heel After An Injury?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Apr 2015
Question: I've had a lot of p ain in my right foot (no injuries or fall to cause pain) hard to walk in morning and just always really stiff and painful than tightness and pain in my right ankle and leg often. I started than getting a strange pulsing/thuming sensation under my skin on my right side than all over my body now. I am overall all now just really stiff all over my body with the ankle pain all the time and strange "thumping" sensations. Did an exray and MRI of ankle and minor bone spur but nothing else found. Should I go to a neurologist and/or pediatrist? thank you XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Plantar fasciitis likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in foot and heel can be due to a condition called plantar fasciitis. Its one of the commonest reason for heel pain. Presence of a bony spur can aggravate the pain. Pain in morning and improvement on walking for some time is its classical presentation. The initial treatment with anti inflammatory medicines with rest and cold fomentation works fine for most of the patients. Cortisone injection is a good mid to long term treatment. You can consult a podiatrist or orthopedician for proper management.
I hope this answers your query.
