Brief Answer:
Fissure feet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you are having pain due to cracks on your feet.

This is called as Fissure feet in medical terms. The fissure or cracks could cause considerable pain while walking or standing as you seem to be experiencing.

I would suggest to you the following-
1. Apply an ointment containing Povidine iodine like Betadine ointment twice a day into the fissures. This is an antibiotic and it will heal the cracks and thereby reduce the pain. It may take about 7-10 days for the cracks to completely heal.

2. After the cracks heal, apply an ointment containing 12% Salicylic acid ( e.g - Salicure 12 ointment) twice a day all around the heal where the skin is dry. This will soften the thick skin on the heel and prevent it from forming deep cracks again.

3. If possible, you can soak the feet in warm water at bedtime for about 20 minutes. Wipe it nicely and then apply the salicylic acid ointment.

Hope this helps you.

If you have any more queries, I will be glad to answer.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Fissure feet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The hardness may be because of 2 reasons-

The thickened skin on the heel.

Another possibility is a corn. This causes severe sharp pain on pressing that area.

You can try to soften it with topicals as I have written above. However, even after 6 weeks of use, if it continues to cause pain, please consult a dermatologist who would excise the corn.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
