Brief Answer:
It can be due to sciatica.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to sciatica. Lumbar disc bulging can compress the nerves and give irritation. This can give pain or twitching or unpleasant feeling in legs. A nerve conduction study will be helpful to rule out this. A doppler study should be conducted to rule out any vessel obstruction also.

For nerve compression syndromes like this, physiotherapy along with muscle relaxants , neurotropic drugs , and NSAIDs will be helpful. Physiotherapy like TENS is very effective for this. Neurotropic drugs like gabapentin or pregabalin is helpful also. Vitamin B12 level should be checked and if low it should be substituted also. Wearing lumbar supporting belts also will be helpful. Use hard mattress for sleeping.

A consultation with orthopedician specialized in spine or neurologist is well appreciated.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
