Question: Hello about a month ago I started to have a ache on both sides of my bladder by Ureters sometimes a burning feeling but not when I go number one or two . I'm a 34 year old male with ibs . That's it besides a cold once a year. Went to gen. Doctor he had no idea . He tested basic met panel and urien test ,culture. Next day he called all came back negative. Next stop gasto. Doc. He gave me a comprehensive met panel , urien test ,prostate check ,colonoscopy and a ct scan. His findings were all neg. Except for ct scan he found a 5mm stone in my right kidney. He thinks pain isn't from stone and me I don't know either . Went to uro doctor he did a X-ray and Day 20 went for lithotripsy he crushed it up . Still bladder ache and burning sensation 7 days after surgery . I have no idea what is going on . I done a lot of reading but have nothing . So I thought I'd give this a shot. He did say the stone was still inside kidney but moving . I have a little of a sore back but not much before and after surgery. Besides that no other symptoms . Pain number just 3 or 4 but uncomfortable .

Brief Answer: pain can be due to stone fragments Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing to HCM. That pain can be due to the stone fragments, that you got crushed, passing down the ureter into the bladder and then finally out. Another possibility is of urinary tract infection which was either present before (though your tests were normal) or can be after the lithotripsy. I usually prescribe my patients with similar symptoms, a urine alkalizer for a week. This helps them by decreasing the infection and prevents further stone formation. I suggest that you also try it but in consultation with your urologist. Hope i have been helpful. Dr. Ashish Verma
