Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection or STD

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM

I am sorry to hear that you are having burning on urination. This is a uncommon problem in men. I strongly recommend that you seek medical attention as you will need a urine culture and a test for sexually transmitted diseases. Despite only having sex occasionally it only takes one time for you to catch something. You will need to start on antibiotics and the only way to know which antibiotic is appropriate is to get the cultures.

You may also have a prostate infection. The prostate is a gland that is at the base of the penis and will get infected for unknown reason. It can be also treated with a long course of antibiotics 2-4 weeks. To test for a prostatitis the doctor will do a rectal exam to feel the prostrate and determine if it is indeed infected.

While waiting to see a doctor I recommend that you drink plenty of fluids. Avoid sex or if you do have sex muse a condom.
