Brief Answer:
stomach pain may occur with this drug

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

you were right to take flucloxacillin with an empty stomach. Taking it with food may reduce its effectiveness. Despite that, gastrointestinal side effects (minor usually) are possible and stomach pain is a rather common one among them. Chest pain is not supposed to occur.

You haven't told me the reason your doctor prescribed this antibiotic to you. It's important to know the reason as some infections may cause such symptoms themselves, either directly or after a complication ensues, so please tell me more about your initial symptoms or the diagnosis.

If it's the antibiotic then you can't do much except substitute another one for it. Remember to talk with your doctor before proceeding with any changes in your treatment plan though.

I hope you find my comments helpful!

Kind Regards!

Hi thanks for your help, I've never seemed to have a problem when taking this medication before for other health conditions. The doctor perscribed it because of infected eczema

Brief Answer:
Tt may cause side effects still

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for the additional information!

Knowing that you've taken the drug without any problems in the past helps but it does not exclude current or future side effects. Stomach trouble may occur. Chest pain may not. If the symptoms are severe enough then you should talk with your doctor...

Best wishes!
