What Causes Numbness In The Toes, Nose And Arms?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: About 5 days ago I awoke to a strange numbness in my little toes. In the past months I've experienced the same in my nose and less frequently, my arms. My shoulders and upper arms are almost always painful these days but I attribute that to stress. As did my doctor. I just can't seem to relax them. This new numbness is a bit concerning though. When I share these things with my regular doctor he dismisses them to anxiety disorders, depression or sleep patterns. I've undergone sleep disorder testing but I don't sleep long enough for accurate readings. I have high blood pressure, migraines (diagnosed by a neurologist at 5 years old) but I feel good and strong for the most part. I don't really know what to do here and maybe nothing is required. But my body does feel a little weird. I appreciate any advice you might have.

Brief Answer:
What medications are you on?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed this information full. The diffuse nature of these symptoms do not point to a possible single organ pathology which explains them. This might be the same rasons why your doctors have thought of them more as possible psychological disorders. This is likely so and supported by the fact that you are unable to relax and get enough sleep. I will suggest that you resolve to relaxation techniques such as meditation, Yoga, martial arts. Also, healthy diet rich if fruits, vegetables and fibers as well as regular exercise would help. Also, try to cultivate and maintain a positive and healthy mindset.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
