I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. If this is the first time your hand has fallen asleep, I will suggest that you get it checked out. If by falling asleep you mean loss of muscle power, it could represent stroke or warning signs for stroke that need to be investigated and managed aggressively.

However, if this has been going on over a longtime, there would be no reason to make a rapid trip to the hospital as this could be a sign of peripheral neuropathy. Rather, take an appointment with your doctor for proper clinical evaluation and a plan on how to address this.

In all, if it is a new observation, seek immediate medical attention. If it has been going on for a while, take an appointment and get it evaluated fully.
