Brief Answer:
Methycobal injections would be effective.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and blood test report.

Your diagnosis is vitamin B12-deficiency related peripheral neuropathy.

Methycobal injections are very useful in rectifying the deficiency of vitamin B12.

In addition, pregabalin capsules may be taken to reduce the burning sensation.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Brief Answer:
You would get better in 6-8 weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

You would get better in 6-8 weeks, however, treatment may be continued for 3-6 months. Once improvement has started, you may take vitamin B12 tablets instead of injections.

Improvement in your symptoms would suggest that the treatment has been effective.

Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
