Brief Answer:
Muscle pain worsened during periods.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Many women report nearly the same problem as yours during periods. ( neck, head or back pain during periods that vanishes after ).

There are some conditions related to aggravated pain during periods and these include previous joint pain syndromes (arthritis), hypothyroidism ( under active thyroid gland function), anxiety disorders.

Arthritis is excluded in your case because of normal x-Rays.

In my opinion you should have a thyroid function test done. If it comes back normal, then there is a muscular problem due to increased stress during periods.

Birth control pills help improve symptoms by way of stabilizing hormone changes during periods.

The exact cause of such pain during periods it's still unknown.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
