Brief Answer:
Can be acute gastritis and may need antacids and anti emetics

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what your wife had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems as she have suffered from acute gastritis or vomiting predominant enteritis. Some times inflammation of inner lining of stomach or exposure to some contaminated food may trigger such symptoms.

It's good that you have kept the hydration good but only plain water may not suffice the water and electrolytes loss so oral rehydration salts in water can be started alongwith Motility agents like domperidone or anti emetics like metaclopramide. Antacids like omperazole before meals should also be given.

Meanwhile avoid heavy, spicy, junk meals and fizzy drinks. Soft diets like porridge, custard, corn soup, potatoes, bananas can be given. If situation persists she should be convinced to visit a hospital.

Wishing her a quick recovery. Hope this has answered your query. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Regards.
