What Causes Nausea And Chest Pain After Stop Smoking?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 May 2017
Question: Hi Sir, This is xxxxx age 25, i quit smoking in august 2016 and after that i had chest pain on regular basis and nausea feeling. I surfed on google to check it showed that these are symptoms of heart attack. I was very scared that time and after that i went through ECG few times and then undergone with TMT and 2d echo test recently and it showed normal. But i am still scared coz i keep on having pain in chest and also on shoulder comes and goes often daily basis and also opposite to elbow side and wrist. One of the doctor said i would not be having a heart attack for next fews years atleast and another doctor said to have a nuclear stress test done. My BP always remains between 110/70 to 130/25 and i also went through Lipid profile test. I know that we cannot say that a person cannot have an attack for life time. But can with this report we can say for its good for atleast few years and i will not have a attack for few years atleast. Please help sir. Thanks

Brief Answer:
You are definitely not at high risk for heart attack!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully. This in no way suggests a possible heart attack. Reviewing your details and the results of your testing do not even place you at high risk for a heart disease, talk less of a heart attack. With you stopping smoking, it means you are even safer than you were before doing so as concerns a heart attack.

I understand your fears and these are the fears which make these apparently unsuspecting symptoms to become concerning. I kindly request that you get reassured after all these many tests with normal findings and the several reassurances from other physicians as well.

Be relaxed, eat healthy, exercise often and keep a positive mindset. All would be okay. Besides, always congratulate yourself for having stopped smoking.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

Brief Answer:
That isn't heart attack related pain?

Detailed Answer:
HI,

Heart attack related pain would not be intermittent. Your fears is the main problem at this point. If you could relax enough and believe you are not having a heart attack because you are for real not having any, you would be fine. Be calm and more relaxed about this. The nature of this pain lasting just a second is really out of the classical pain for any heart related disease.

Besides, whats your weight and height?

Brief Answer:
Work on reducing your weight!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your weight s to much for your height. That not withstanding, there is nothing raising a flag for possible heart disease at this time. Good diet, regular exercise and active lifestyle are helpful at reducing your body weight.

I wish you well.

Brief Answer:
THe fear is the main reason that you would be more alert to pain than usual

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you would believe the medical assessment and reassurances from your doctors, you will know heart attack is not possible at this time. Remember, we tend to experience symptoms of a particular disease if that is all we actually think of often.

I wish you well and I hope you put this behind you and stay calm, relaxed and reassured.
