Thanks for the query.

You are having occasional epistaxis for left nostril. There can be multiple causes of epistaxis but most common are nose picking, dry crusting of nose, trauma, few of the drugs and nasal masses. In elderly, the most common cause is hypertension.

The other complaint you described is post nasal drip for which the common cause is sinusitis.

Sinusitis related epistaxis can be because of crusting and scabbing which can lead to epistaxis as and when that scab/crust gets dislodged.

Please use a lubricant like Neosporin ointment in nose along with xylomatazoline nasal drops (otrivin) for few days. Also get your coagulation profile checked.

Your medical history states that you are not using any other drug as of now, so the drug related epistaxis causes can be excluded.

When tired and then epistaxis, please get your blood pressured monitored regularly.

In case above mentioned things do not solve the problem, please see an ENT and complete ENT examination including endoscopic examination will help.
