What Causes Mole On Left Foot?

default
Posted on Wed, 7 May 2014
Question: I had developed a small mole(half centimeter diameter) on top part of my left feet more than a year back. I did not bother about it much as its not painful. Now there is one more mole coming up right next to it which is approx 3 mm in diameter. Is this some kind of infection? What should I do to get rid of both of them?

Brief Answer: details below Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing to us. This mole on your left foot could be a melanocytic naevi, viral wart, callosity, molluscum etc. The exact diagnosis can only be confirmed after the lesion has been examined. Brief Answer: these are viral warts Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing to us. I have seen the attached pic. These two elevated skin lesions are viral warts. Had you been my patient, I would have advised you to apply salactin paint twice in a day precisely over the wart. It contains salicylic and lactic acid. Both are keratolytic agents causing shedding of virus infested skin. Usually the warts shed off with its application in a week or two. If no response is seen or if you want immediate removal, electrocautery would help. Its a small time procedure where we burn the wart using a fine electric current transmitting probe. Immediately after the procedure, you may resume all your activities. Hope this helped. Take care
