Question: Yes, please. I am suffering from mild congestion in my head, night sweats, and during the day, hot flashes followed by chills. I feel nauseous and have low energy and lightheadedness, but no fever. I would love to feel like myself again. I felt bad last week, got better, and have now felt sick for three consecutive days. Thank you so much, I really hope you can help.

Hi, I'm timing my hot flashes and they are every 30 minutes, just thought you should know!
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Acute infections work up and analgesics may be needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, these symptoms prompt the need to be evaluated for acute infection with the possible source being upper respiratory tract through other possibilities should also be ruled out and baseline good work up like complete blood counts, ESR and CRP should be done to start with. X-ray paranasal sinuses and chest may also be needed.

Analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used for symptomatic relief but in the long run, if fever spikes are noticed antibiotics course may be needed. Antihistamines like cetirizine or loratadine may also help.

Such symptoms can also be part of perimenopausal symptoms however should only be considered once infections have been ruled out.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope this has answered your query.
