What Causes Marks On Body Of A 13 Year Old?

Question: My son has 3 or 4 "marks" like the one attached on his body. I have no idea what they are but he tells me he's had them for at least a few weeks. Please advise. Thank you. He is 13 and we live near a woods and he plays soccer.
