What Causes Lymph Nodes Around Neck?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: Hi, for the last few months i have been able to feel the lymph nodes around my cervical bone on both sides. I went to a dr and he brushed me off and (without feeling them) said it is just your lymph nodes. Lots of people online have different opinions whether this is normal or not?

Brief Answer:
please meet your doctor again

Detailed Answer:
hello

Lymph nodes around the neck are not something to ignore and definitely need to be evaluated.

I would like you to meet your doctor , who may ask you to do the following tests

1. ultrasound of the neck to determine the exact size and number of lymph nodes

2. Fine needle aspiration of the nodes to determine the nature of the nodes , that is if they are enlarged due to an infection or something else

3. he may also ask you to meet an ent doctor/dentist , for complete examination of your head and neck region , to look for a focus of infection , which may be causing the lymph nodes to enlarge.

please discuss all these options with your doctor.

take care

Thank you. I have had some chiropractic manipulation on my neck recently - could this be a cause of this? I appreciate your help.

Brief Answer:
no , it is not likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello

No , it is not likely that chiropractic manipulation will give rise to enlarged lymph nodes, and i dont think it is related to your symptoms.

Please try to meet your doctor!!

Take care!
