Brief Answer:
?? Subcutaneous nodules related to rheumatoid arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Lumps or knots or nodules in the arm (under the skin) in most cases are related to infections or trauma, but usually subside soon after the infection subsides.

In cases where they have lasted for long durations (as in your case years), they could be related to conditions like:

+Tumors
+Rheumatoid arthritis (subcutaneous nodules)
+Cancer (rare)

As you have used the plural, and have reported more than one nodule, I am leaning more towards conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. The nodules or lumps will only subside if the underlying cause/condition resolves, and so in your case I would like to refer you to a rheumatologist who would most likely be able to either help confirm the diagnosis and initiate treatment (if that has not already been done), or to the rheumatologist who can help confirm that the nodules are related to a certain condition (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis) and firstly reduce our concern, and secondly help you with dealing with the pain.

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
