What Causes Lump Between Nose And Eye Medial?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Mar 2015
Question: Hi, I'm a 43 yr old male, 6'0 and 170lbs. I have a pretty clear medical history. I have a hard lump between my right eye and the bridge of my nose that just developed. It is basically sitting close to the caruncula, and near the inside bridge of my nose. When I press on it, it feels really hard. It has just developed there, after it was swollen a little worse (extended the swollen area to below and above the eye a little). Seemed like something (dirt, small rock) got in there and has been reacting to being stuck there. Not confirmed , though. I have put hydrogen peroxide in it and it fizzes a little. Done warm patch and salt water rinsing to treat it. Swelling is less, but hard ball seems unchanged since developing. Whole thing started a week ago, ball developed in last few days. Love your Advise. Please see the attached pictures

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.

It seems from the history that you are having lump between nose and eye medial to medial canthus.
This looks like swelling of the lacrimal sac because of its inflammation called as dacryocystitis.
This requires treatment by the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

I prefer to use antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin eye drops with oral anti-inflammatory drugs and hot compression.
Do consult your doctor for prescription of drugs.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
