default
Posted on Thu, 16 Oct 2014
Question: My lower back on one side only has been periodically aching after strenuous exercise such as turbo and step but goes away after a few hours. A couple of weeks ago the pain came after a class and has stayed. The only time I don't feel pain is while walking, I walk an hour each day.

Brief Answer:
it can be lumbar spondylitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and i think that you are having lumbar spondylitis. In this condition there is arthritic changes in spine and it causes pain in the back specially after prolong standing, exercises and weight lifting. I have following suggestions to my patients with similar complains.
Get x ray of the spine and confirm the diagnosis.
1. Meet a physio and start back muscle strengthening exercises.
2. Tablet Myospaz and myoril for muscle relaxation.
3. Avoid heavy workout, sudden bending, sleeping on very soft bed.
4. Voletran ointment and hot water fomentation, ice is not useful.
5.Calcium and vitamin D 3 regularly
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
