What Causes Low Testosterone Count And Low Vit D Levels?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 May 2014
Question: I just received my blood test results from the local health fair. My testosterone count is 416 ng/dL, on the very low side of normal which ranges from 348-1197. My vitamin D count is only 16.8 ng/mL. I assume they are somehow related because the difficiency in each can lead to osteoporosis. People with a small thin physical frame are also susceptible to osteoporosis. Can I assume that small thin framed males (ectomorphs) would have a propensity to have low testosterone levels as apposed to say a classic mesomorph type?

Brief Answer:
Not true that thin framed guys have low Testovalue

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day,

Do you have diabetes or any other problems? Are you on any pills?

Testoterone levels can vary in an individual on a day to day basis. Again, Testosterone should be measured ideally between 7 to 9 am on fasting state. Once you have a low level, you need to recheck it atleast once again.
Your testosterone levels are not that low. It is with in normal limit . Most important thing is your symptoms. Do you have low libido or poor erection quality? Do you have poor body hair growth? If they are all okay, please ignore this test value.

Vitamin D deficiency can lead to Osteoporosis and more imprtantly Osteomalacia.
Testosterone deficiency leads to Osteoporosis. There are no direct relationship between Vit D deficiency and Testosterone deficiency. However, Vit D deficiency is very common. Conditions like malnutrition, celiac disease etc can cause low Vit D levels as well as low testosterone levels.

It is not true that people with small frame have low testosterne level. In fact Obesity lead to low testosterone level.

Binu
