Question: My blood pressure is normally a low borderline high blood pressure of around 120/95 to 124/86 for years. I have been on Lisinopril and Amlodipine for 5 years with a normal resting BPM of 95. Now all of sudden, my blood pressure tonight is 96/74 to 107/66 and a BPM of 88. I am an obese, 281 lbs. Any thoughts?

HI

Thanks for posting your query.

First of all don't panic , your blood pressure is still in normal range. There are many cause for drop in Blood pressure, like

1. Severe Vomiting or loose Motions.
2. Infections ( Fever )
3. Hormonal Imbalance.
4. Heart Problems.
5. Overdose of BP medications.

If you don't have any Vomiting or loose motions or Fever then we need to evaluate for Hormonal Imbalance or Heart problem . But even before that I think your Blood pressure medications has to be lowered as your usual Pressure is only 120-124/86-95.

In that regard I advise you to consult your doctor and ask for a reduction in Amlodipine medicine and then keep monitoring your Blood pressure. If your blood pressure still drops then we need to do evaluation for Heart problems and Hormonal Imbalances.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.
