At C4/5 there is the same as above and it is also abutting the ventral aspect of the cervical cord with some foraminal narrowing. There is neurocentric joint degeneration and osteophyte formation.

Brief Answer:
You need some intervention.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from degenerative changes in cervical spine.Your nerves are also involved and it is causing neurological symptoms.

Since conservative treatment is not helpful,so you should go for some definitive intervention.
Now a days there are many advance techniques to tackle problem that causes neurological symptoms. You can go for endoscopic disectomy and osteophyte trimming that is causing compression in lateral neural canal. This is minimum invasive procedure and in this procedure bony overgrowths are removed
that causes compression over the nerves.
It is done as day care basis and patient is discharged on the same day.It is almost painless.
You can start physiotherapy after relieving from pain.

You can also opt for ozone lysis of disc.

you should consult neurosurgeon.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.

Thank you. my GP feels surgery is the only option. i am booked in to see my neurosurgeon on Monday. Do you think they might replace some discs? How much time do you think it might take before I could resume normal duties or work?
