Brief Answer:
Astigmatism requiring glasses for astigmatism specifically

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. From the given information, it seems to me like you may have astigmatism which will require an ophthalmic consultation and special glasses for the same.

Astigmatism can cause the entire field of vision to look hazy, blurry, with halos, etc; thus making it almost impossible to view even the objects away from the source of light.

Anti-glare glasses may help mildly but the cause is astigmatism and so only glasses for astigmatism will help you. It is best you do not drive until then ma'am, as this can lead to some serious consequences. Is there any way you can get home without having to drive yourself? Please do call family or someone who can come get you.

If you really cannot in any way get home without driving there, then please drive slowly and try to keep the light in your peripheral vision which can provide you with a slightly larger field of vision to work with and concentrate on.

I hope you can get home safely. Please do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
They should have, you can ask them a few questions and clarify

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Speak to your doctor and ask him/her:

1. If he/she found you to have astigmatism?

2. If they did, then did they prescribed you glasses for astigmatism?

If the answer to both the questions is a yes, then you need not worry as it takes some time for an individual's eyes to get used to glasses prescribed for astigmatism.

But if any of the two above questions or both return a NO, then you need to revisit your doctor.

Also, if you continue to have this presentation even a month down the line, then you need to revisit your doctor and discuss this with them.

I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you and also hope you can stay safe and get home safely. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
