What Causes Leg Pain And Excruciating Right-sided Pain Near Appendix?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Mar 2015
Question: I recently had a MRI on my lower abdomen and leg for over a year I have progressively gotten worse, but I have had many test and none have shown a problem. My symptoms are leg pain and pain in my right side
right beside down by appendix and ovary along with my whole body actually just hurts like I have been working out (sore to touch) . I get totally out of breath with little exertion In XXXXXXX they said it was fibroids so they did a partial hysterectomy , I had a brain scan, the nurse called and said a small spot on brain and was probably age they would recheck in 3 months. I have had many other scans and apparently nothing is wrong. Now the pain is going into my left leg. My fingers are sore to the bone, and xray showed nothing.
I have the MRI disk and when I look at I see something Black right where my pain is, the doctor said to go back to my gyno. that it may be my colon. I have over the past month become more constipated.

My biggest concern is a blockage yet the heart doctor said he did not feel the need to do a blockage test.
If I uploaded the MRI could someone look at it I really feel like it has to be something either neurological or a blockage. My left arm and neck has been hurting to since my left leg started hurting,

Brief Answer:
No abnormality in images sent, upload scan images to Dropbox and send link

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
As a radiologist I see MRI scans regularly including that of brain, spine and abdomen.

I have gone through your images uploaded. These are only few images and I can see that you have had a partial hysterectomy and the colon is filled with air. Your urinary bladder is visualized and some pictures show the muscles of the abdominal wall. It does not show any particular condition involving the colon on the images sent.

Can you please upload the MRI scan discs to Dropbox which is a file upload service and send the link. I will download the entire disc contents and see the images in detail to give you a complete review of your scans concerning the brain and abdomen.

If you have been having pain in right lower abdomen and right leg which is now involving the left leg, then it is important to see the images through the lumbosacral spine to see if any disc in the spine is causing pinching on the nerves. This should be seen if you can upload the entire scan and send me the link.

Please note that in the given images there is nothing abnormal to be seen that can be causing your pain and discomfort.

Since the heart is also your concern hence I would like to know the heart related tests and scans done and discuss the same with you.

Waiting for updates from your end.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Brief Answer:
The MRI pelvis do not show any abnormality, please discuss heart condition

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

I saw all the MRI images included in the CD that you uploaded. It contains images of the hip and pelvis. There is no significant abnormality seen in the pelvis and hip region.

The part of colon visualized does not show any area of disease. Even the region of appendix appears normal.

Should you have a MRI of the lumbar spine then that can be shared to know if there any disc conditions in lower back causing pain that you earlier felt in right leg and are having it now on the left leg. The discs in lumbar region need to be evaluated for any nerve root compression leading to the pain.

Your problems with the heart are yet to be discussed. Please send the details concerning your heart and we can discuss the further on solving your problem. You can get an echocardiography as a preliminary test and then discuss findings with your heart doctor

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
