What Causes Left-sided Stomach Pain?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Aug 2016
Question: I have stomach pain on the left side close to waist line. It also seems to have a pain close to my private every so often. I've had this pain for a while now but just thought I pulled a muscle or something. It hasn't better but it hasn't gotten much worse either. It's not a sharp pain. It's almost like a balloon feeling inside.

Also, today I ate a salad with romaine lettuce and I had several bowel movements like always when I eat salad.

Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for your answers and getting back to me.

considering your presentation and history, symptoms are most likely related to change in eating and bowel habits. Therefore, i would advise you to follow the advise elaborated below for atleast 3 to 4 weeks. Hopefully, symptoms would subside.

However, in case, if no resolution of symptoms is observed, then further radiological and/or endoscopic examination maybe required.

OTC simethicone tablets maybe used to combat bloating (if present).
Chew food well and try not to talk/open mouth while chewing food ( as it causes air to enters stomach and may lead to bloating).

Advice:
- thrice daily , take two tea spoon (or one big spoon) ispagula with 200 to 300 mL water ( when constipation is dominant - continue for 2 to days)

-warm water intake is recommended as much as possible
- eat small meals (rich in "fiber")
- eat plentiful "fresh oranges" and "pear "
- avoid COLD milk
- add plain yogurt to meals( preferably home prepared and without sugar) - - - - AVOID junk food(NO burger , pizza) altogether
- "mix few drops of lemon juice in warm water". Drink on empty stomach, early in the morning ( for two weeks)
- avoid beverages / alcohol/ soft drinks
- exercise (push-ups etc) early in the morning

any further questions are welcomed.
if no further questions, kindly close the dialogue box and rate the answer.
thank you.

hope to answer your concern.
wish you good health.
