What Causes Left Flank Pain And Hematuria When Diagnosed With Kidney Stones?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Dec 2015
Question: I have been have a steady dull pain in left kidney area for a week. I know from CT Scan a week ago I have several stones in each kidney all small enough to pass. Now along with the steady dull pain I am having sporadic sharp pain that comes and goes like lightning. I do see blood in my urine along with stuff that floats and looks like toilet tissue. I'm tired of the pain, what can I do to make it stop?

Brief Answer:
Lithotripsy

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

I understand how traumatizing it is to have several kidney stones. Here is what I suggest you do

1. get a urine routine done to rule out infection of the kidneys
2. drink 3-4 liters of water a day for passing of stones through the Urine; I prescribe tab lasix along with it so that the stones gets washed off faster
3. I suggest you to undergo lithotripsy, it is a painless method of using ultrasound waves to break down the stones into minute particles
4. avoid aerated drinks, cabbage and red meat
5. Tab tramadol is the ideal tablet for the pain, you can take it twice daily for 3 days

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
