Brief Answer:
It can be due to cartilage softening

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have studied your case. Knee pain in young females is common due to cartilage softening. It is called chondromalacia. Pregnancy can increase this due to weight gain and low calcium.
I would recommend your wife following.
1. She should avoid sqautting, sitting cross leg, or stairs.
2.Take calcium and vitamin D 3 regularly.
3. Hot water fomentation and physiotherapy.
4. Volitran gel local application.
This condition take some time to improve. It can be up to 6 months some time.
She can take occasional pain killer like Etorixoxib. Because she must be breastfeeding so too many medicines are not good for her baby.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks
