What Causes Itchy White Bumps On Scrotum?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015
Question: I have had bumps on my scrotum for over a year. They are very itchy. It is not a sexually transmitted disease, nor is there puss in the bumps, although they appear white. Do you have any advice?
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
It could be follicular eczema or folliculitis .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

It could be follicular eczema or folliculitis or cystic acne.

It is hard for me to diagnose your condition based on the mere description you have provided. So,it would be better if you can take a clinical picture and upload it for my better judgement.

As you said it is located over the scrotum.

You may try
1) calamine lotion on the rash.
2) You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing.
3) Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.
4) Avoid any kind of cosmetics.
5) You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash.
6) If the bump is itchy, you can take some antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin.

If the bump persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

Hope this information helps.
