What Causes Itchy Red Spots On The Abdomen?

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Nov 2016
Question: Hi. I have several red, itchy marks on the abdomen that look like mosquito bites but are not. This has happened occasionally before but no insects have been identified. It also does not seem to be contact dermatitis. Is there something rather exotic (e.g. a virus that shows up ) that could be a possibility?

Brief Answer:
Acute urticaria

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

It can be acute urticaria an allergic reaction.
This type of allergy can happen to any thing including food cloth etc.

It can be treated with the use of anti histamine medication like Cetirizine 10 mg once daily, however the most important thing is to find out the causative agent.

Elimination of the causative agent will give permanent solution.
If possible, please upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and better way of management. You can simply upload it at the reports section.

Waiting for your response.
Thank you.
