What Causes Itching Of Chest Area Followed By Rashes?

Question: For the past week, my chest area has been itching. When I scratch the area, a small to medium size bump/rash appears and in about 1 hr. the bump/rash looks like a scab has formed over it. It's dry looking and not oozing. What is this? I'm a 49yr old woman...
