What Causes Itching In The Throat After Taking Shingles Vaccination?
That evening I had a little itching in my troat like I used to get when I had hay fever years ago.
Yesterday I startled feeling like I had a cold....very congested, low grade fever, headache.
I'm feeling pretty miserable now. (I rarely get headaches - and usually get a sore throat with a cold which I do not have now) Feeling very congested and sneezing, fever, headache, little appetite.
I have been taking what I usually take for colds - EmergenC, zicam, etc.
I have some antihistamine liquid - should I take some?
What should I do and how long will this last?
Viral infection

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. I do not think that there is any correlation between the shingles vaccination and the mentioned symptoms. Possibly you have just caught a cold. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Antibiotics would not help and irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days.
You need to take steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief. Take antihistamine liquid that you have.
Let me know if I could help further.
